Inside Newly Renovated Retro Heights Hotel

The Heights introduces a new hotel that combines all things Houston and all things retro under one A-framed roof.

Once a run-down motel, The Heights House Hotel at 100 W. Cavalcade (formerly known as Astro Inn) has transformed into a hip hangout for travelers and locals alike. Now open, the spot debuts owners George Giannukos and Jivar Foty’s Rise Construction’s yearlong $3.5-million overhaul.

Though the lobby was kept the same during the renovations, it now contains bright blue and orange accent walls, modern neon signage, and a sharp marbled front desk. The mod design carries through the hotel (starting at $100 a night) with trendy globe lighting and mid-century furnishings, sourced from the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas.
